We are a publishing company that deals both with print and eBook formats. We are having trouble effectively converting our eBooks to an ePub format that is accepted by Apple's iBooks. We've had no problems with Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

This is primarily a production position, not a design position, although some design knowledge and experience would be an advantage. Your skills and experience producing ve...ry high quality work quickly and accurately are most important.

The successful candidate will have experience using Adobe InDesign and other tools to take existing publications and transform them into ebooks of the highest quality.
Experience with the ePUB format is required. Experience with XHTML, XML, XSLT and/or CSS would be a bonus, as would experience with the Apple iBook Store, Amazon Kindle, and other ebook stores and readers.

Excellent written English language skills are an absolute requirement.

A history of well reviewed work on eLance is also desired.

We are looking to produce a series of ebooks based some audio + text language learning courses we have in RTF and MP3 format. We are looking for someone to convert our text/audio into an ebook suitable for publication on Apple's iBookstore and (eventually, later on) in text-only format for the Kindle. We want a very professional, clean, modern lo...ok that is easy to navigate and use. We have specific samples of different features we have seen in other ebooks that we will provide the person awarded this contract to model our book on.

Successful contractor must be able to:

-Edit (chop up) and convert 10 MP3 files into three separate audio segments, convert audio to epub standard for iBooks (.m4a), and place them in the appropriate place in the book (Note: the raw MP3 files that will be supplied contain additional, unwanted content, so you must go through and take only the parts required based on the script provided you). Each file is about 20-30 minutes;

-Take the text in RTF format and arrange in chapters according to specifications provided. There are around 80 pages of text for first book project, divided into 10 chapters;

-Be flexible in incorporating various suggestions and revisions, a process that make take several iterations before it is to our satisfaction;

-Work in a timely manner - we'd like to get the first book finished within 2 weeks (approx. 80 pages of text with 30 audio segments to be embedded);

-Have a good sense of layout and style, yet also willing to follow suggestions from client.

There are no photos (other than cover art) or other complicated features required in the book, other than a few icons and shaded rectangular boxes for emphasis in certain parts of the text. We may, however, ask you to produce a cover page image and/or modify the book cover photo, so proficiency in Photoshop or similar software is required.

Deliverables will include the finished ePub, audio segments, and InDesign file used for producing the ePub.

We have several more books to produce after this initial one, so a job well-done, on-time, and within budget will be awarded additional work.

I have six (proof-ready) pdf's of hardback books which total over 3000 pages. (These PDF's are exactly what the printed books look like, complete with headers, page numbers etc..) When uploaded to Kindle, page numbers go away making the index and glossary useless. All of the books need to be formatted with Kindle page numbers so that a reader ca...n search a reference in the index and then go to the Kindle page number to locate the reference. Also, hyperlinks from the index to the text would also be ideal, but it would depend on the price. For the purpose of the bid, just quote formatting page numbers. If you would like to add hyperlinking to the bid, add it in the summary of your bid. Kindle expertise is an absolute must!

This is a straightforward project: to convert an already laid out print ready manuscript (230 pages at 8.5 x 5.5) into the three major ebook formats (pdf, epub and mobi/kindle). I have it available in Microsoft word or the PDF submitted to the printer.

As I mentioned all the content is already laid out in the fashion we wish it to appear in the f...inal documents, including: title pages, copyright page, table of contents, chapter titles, author’s page, etc.). Aside from the cover and a small logo on the title page there are no images - just text.

Would like to work with someone who has experience with ebook layout requirements for Amazon and Apple. Ebooks will also be submitted through Ingram's CoreSource distribution program and experience with that program would be a bonus.

I have 3 E book files that just need converting to be compatible to upload to sell on kindle, and must look good in the Kindle format. I have tried one myself but it didnt' look right and I don't have time to play with it, so looking for someone who can do for me quickly.

Book 1: 75,000 word Microsoft word format book with less than 10 images and tables

Book 2: 65,000 word Microsoft word format book with about 100 images
